Graphic Design: Now in Production

The year end issue is the issue that keeps on giving. The Walker Art Center is including our epic year ender in Graphic Design: Now in Production a traveling exhibition and book. Reviewed here in the NYTimes.

I’ll be in Minneapolis for the opening–Friday, October 21st with BBW design director, Cindy Hoffman. It is our first time at the Walker Museum so we’re  really looking forward to the adventure.

Not much has been revealed about who or what is in the show but JK and Keetra Dean Dixon gave twitter a sneak peak, I saw a hint of my new obsession MetaHaven, a glimpse of everyone’s favorite Daniel Eatock, and I think I recgonized Travis Stearns too.

If you’re going to be there let me know and say “Hi!”.

This major international exhibition explores how graphic design has broadened its reach dramatically over the past decade, expanding from a specialized profession to a widely deployed tool. With the rise of user-generated content and new creative software, along with innovations in publishing and distribution systems, people outside the field are mobilizing the techniques and processes of design to create and publish visual media. At the same time, designers are becoming producers: authors, publishers, instigators, and entrepreneurs employing their creative skills as makers of content and shapers of experiences.
