As previously mentioned, I was sent a blank skateboard deck from Elysia Syriac of the good, gentle folks of AIGA Colorado. Let’s be honest, designers are no strangers to painting skate decks (last year I painted my skateboard as a giant eraser for the same charity auction). This year I didn’t want to repeat what I already did with a new noun (Giant hot dog? Engorged popsicle? Oversized pickle? Actually, all of those sound awesome). So, I did what I thought Duchamp would’ve done: nail a fish to it.
A singing, sarcastic, no-fear fish.
This is not the first hack into the annoying Big Billy Bass. It is not the last. But, thanks to the heroic efforts of Chris Allick (who did all of the brilliant nerdery) and the voice of Nicholas Often this “‘Skate’ or Die” skate deck came to life. (GET IT?!?! “SKATE” or DIE??)

This board will be available to bid on online a week before the event. So, very soon. Follow Bordo Bello on twitter for updates and learn more about the art show fundraiser at bordobello.com
